A software license is a legal instrument (usually by way of contract law, with or without printed material) governing the use or redistribution of software. Under United States copyright law all software is copyright protected, in source code as also object code form. The only exception is software in the public domain. A typical software license grants the licensee, typically an end-user, permission to use one or more copies of software in ways where such a use would otherwise potentially constitute copyright infringement of the software owner's exclusive rights under copyright. I've been an IT consultant for most of my life and one of our mantras is -fast, good, and cheap. you never get all three!- Somehow CompSource does it. I'd ordered a portable air conditioner from two other vendors and both strung me along and finally cancelled my order *after* charging me since they apparently couldn't either manage stock or suppliers properly. I eventually got my money back but I was worried up getting gouged with summer "on season" pricing. I found CompSource had a unit almost identical (different branding) and thought I'd give it one more try. To be honest it looked too good to be true. Price with shipping was over $100 less than the competition. I was shocked that it arrived almost as fast as I got the *tracking number*. I ordered on a Friday and got the FedEx tracking number on Monday from Rich Burson and had the unit Tuesday evening. This is a nearly 100lb 12K BTU beast that I would have expected to take at least a couple weeks to get. I sent a quick thank you email and who replies? The President of the company. Personally. Smart guy. I used to check Newegg first. Not anymore. Thanks! Mike
