Xerox

Xerox's industry-leading technology, software and people are advancing workflow automation, analytics, personalization, security solutions and innovative digital printing - helping organizations of all sizes around the globe work, communicate and collaborate more efficiently.

Xerox Corporationis an American global corporation that sells print and digital document products and services in more than 160 countries. Xerox is headquartered in Norwalk, Connecticut (having moved from Stamford, Connecticut in October 2007), though its largest population of employees is based around Rochester, New York, the area in which the company was founded. The company purchased Affiliated Computer Services for $6.4 billion in early 2010. As a large developed company, it is consistently placed in the list of Fortune 500 companies.

Researchers at Xerox and its Palo Alto Research Center invented several important elements of personal computing, such as the desktop metaphor GUI, the computer mouse and desktop computing. These concepts were frowned upon by the then board of directors, who ordered the Xerox engineers to share them with Apple technicians. The concepts were adopted by Apple and later Microsoft. With the help of these innovations, Apple and Microsoft came to dominate the personal computing revolution of the 1980s, whereas Xerox was not a major player.

The laser printer was invented in 1969 by Xerox researcher Gary Starkweather by modifying a Xerox 7000 copier. Xerox management was afraid the product version of Starkweather's invention, which became the 9700, would negatively impact their copier business so the innovation sat in limbo until IBM launched the 3800 laser printer in 1976.

A very professional organization. Their stock items ship very quicly and arrive as expected. Backorder items have a estimated ship date which understandably can change as the suppliers make things available. When items ship typically the customer will get an invoice and in most cases a seperate email with detailed shipping info like tracking. Although the tracking information updates have greatly improved they are not 100% so at times a item may ship but tracking will not be readily available. The OrderTracking link on the website might show the missing tracking info but the email updates seem to be more reliable. Overall this is a great company, easy to work with, trustworthy and reliable. Customer service I will give my absolute best rating as they are there to help, they do help and they DO NOT under any circumstances give the customer the "run-around". They will gt back to you in a timely manner, usually in hours of your request. They have information that is useful, they answer your question. Quite possibly the best customer service out there. Let me correct that: THE BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE, EVER!!! reseller ratings
