General Information:

Just like an ordinary light bulb, with extended use the lamp in your BenQ projector will begin to dim and eventually fail. After your BenQ projector has been operated for a thousand hours or more over many months or even years, you may begin to notice that the projected image seems dimmer, the colors faded. It's likely that the problem is a failing projector lamp.

Luckily, with your BenQ projector's thoughtful lamp housing design, replacing a worn lamp is little more difficult than replacing a light bulb. And when it is time for a new projector lamp, a BenQ replacement lamp offers several key advantages.

BenQ lamps offer exceptional quality, validated through an extremely rigorous battery of tests in three key areas: reliability, performance, and safety. The tests meet or exceed industry standards for lamp quality testing, ensuring that you are installing the best possible replacement lamp in your BenQ projector.

Reliable

BenQ's reliability tests include checks on spot temperatures on the lamp at key locations that might be vulnerable to overheating. In addition, temperature monitoring is conducted on key components in a projector in which the lamp is installed, to verify that the lamp doesn't create an undue thermal burden for the unit as a whole.

High-performance

Performance tests for BenQ bulbs include rigorous individual tests for brightness, brightness uniformity, color, and color uniformity. Together, these tests ensure that with a BenQ replacement lamp installed, your BenQ projector will deliver the same dazzling picture quality it did on first use.

Safe

BenQ also applies strict safety tests to its lamps, carefully gauging their behavior in extreme conditions such as when burst due to excessive heat, physical damage or other unforeseen factors, and when a projector is subjected to various hazards, such as liquid spills or impact shocks.

Long-lasting

BenQ lamps are designed and constructed for the longest possible lamp life. Contrast this to the hit-and-miss durability of most replacement lamps, which are vulnerable to failure at any time. In addition, BenQ lamps incorporate our Lamp Care System, a sophisticated cooling system that prevents heat damage, extending lamp life and thereby reducing maintenance costs.

Finally, of course, a BenQ projector lamp is designed to work seamlessly with your BenQ projector, with design features like a protective shield that surrounds the lamp to prevent injury in the rare event of a burst lamp. To ensure that your older BenQ projector continues to deliver like-new picture quality, choose a BenQ replacement lamp.

    Learn more about Projection Lamps

The television screen seems to be getting larger and larger. These days you can easily find a high quality and reasonably priced 65-inch TV, and some of the best TVs you can buy are also quite reasonably priced. But, if you want a true cinematic experience, a projector is the way to go. Projector screens easily reach 120+ inches, and some projectors now support 4K UHD resolution and cover impressively wide color gamuts, just like their 4K TV counterparts. In a true home theater the difference between a large screen TV and a projector are simply a different experience all together and the projector becomes the thing that makes that impression last.

We also install TV's and Projectors in conference rooms. There are solid arguments for both appliances to be used in different scenarios. Often times this decision can be made simply by the size of the room or if the business wants a whiteboard functionality etc. We often prefer Large Format TV's or Touch Screen TV's for conference rooms.

So should you buy a projector? Well, projectors are a bit more complicated than TVs and require a little extra work and consideration, but the best projectors will bring your home theater to life. There are major factors that will determine whether a projector is right for you.

Can you control the light in the room?
While many projectors have much brighter lumens than previous models. You still have to have the ability to control your lighting as well as block light from outside.
Is there space in your area for a screen?
You are going to need both the space to install a screen and the depth to have the projector far enough away from the screen to project on your screen. First you can mount a manual or motorized drop-down screen from your ceiling. You could also mount a fixed screen to your wall, so long as you’re willing to sacrifice the space. You could also paint your wall with a special projection-screen paint.
Do you have an A/V receiver?
A good A/V receiver is an important part of any home theater, and because projectors often have fewer connection ports than TVs, they are perfect for projector setups. If you plan to connect just a single device to your projector and have a sound system you can connect to it, be that a Blu-ray player or game console, then you don’t necessarily need any additional equipment. But since most projectors have only one HDMI input, you’ll need an A/V receiver to connect multiple devices. An HDMI switcher is also an option, but an A/V receiver is better: it will also provide sound to your speaker system – you definitely want a sound system, projectors have very weak speakers, if they have them at all.
