General Information:

The Cisco® IP Conference Phone 7832 is an entry-level, cost-effective conference endpoint that provides superior HD audio performance for executive offices and small meeting rooms with up to six participants.

The Cisco IP Conference Phone 7832 enhances people-centric collaboration by delivering easy-to-use audio conferencing. It combines superior high-definition (HD) audio performance and 360-degree microphone coverage in a very sleek, approachable, and compact form, making it ideal for both small conference and huddle rooms and private offices, such as for managers and executives.

The 7832 is designed with a unique acoustic architecture that enables it to capture both the deeper lows and the higher frequencies of the human voice, resulting in a true audiophile sound experience. With full-duplex technology that eliminates distracting drop-outs, as well as the latest echo cancellation advancements, it offers a conference phone experience without compromise.

Conference calls are made more productive and efficient by four sensitive microphones with 360-degree coverage that allow users to speak in a normal voice and be heard clearly from up to 7 feet (2.1 m) away. The phone also features technology that resists interference from mobile phones and other wireless devices, assuring delivery of clear communications without distractions.

The Cisco IP Conference Phone 7832 uses Cisco's first-class voice over IP (VoIP) technology to deliver ease of use, "always-on" reliability, encrypted voice communications for unparalleled security, and access to a comprehensive suite of unified communications features from CUCM (Cisco Unified Communications Manager) or Cisco Spark cloud.

    About Cisco

    Approach to Quality
Cisco's approach to quality can be condensed down to one phrase: "ensuring our customer success". The information contained in this section will help you to gain a better understanding of Cisco's Business Management System, which allows us to accomplish that success. Cisco's Business Management System is made up of two parts; the Quality Management System and the Environmental Management System.

    Cisco Fun Facts
Cisco Systems, Inc. is an American multinational technology conglomerate headquartered in San Jose, California, in the center of Silicon Valley, that develops, manufactures and sells networking hardware, telecommunications equipment and other high-technology services and products. Through its numerous acquired subsidiaries, such as OpenDNS, WebEx, Jabber and Jasper, Cisco specializes into specific tech markets, such as Internet of Things (IoT), domain security and energy management.

Cisco is the largest networking company in the world. The stock was added to the Dow Jones Industrial Average on June 8, 2009, and is also included in the S&P 500 Index, the Russell 1000 Index, NASDAQ-100 Index and the Russell 1000 Growth Stock Index.

Cisco Systems was founded in December 1984 by Leonard Bosack and Sandy Lerner, two Stanford University computer scientists, who pioneered the concept of a local area network (LAN) being used to connect geographically disparate computers over a multiprotocol router system. By the time the company went public in 1990, when it was listed on the NASDAQ, Cisco had a market capitalization of $224 million. Cisco was the most valuable company in the world by 2000, with a more than $500 billion market capitalization

    Learn more about IP Phones

What are IP Phones / IP Telephones?

An IP phone, also called a VoIP phone, is a phone that uses internet protocol, rather than the circuit-switched PSTN. An IP phone connects through an Ethernet cable, rather than a phone jack, to the internet, where is connects to the IP address of either the VoIP provider or the hosted PBX provider. From a user's perspective, it works just like a traditional phone, but better.

PSTN phones and VoIP phones are not compatible, but you can adapt a PSTN phone to the internet with an analog telephone adapter. If you do this, although you'll be able to make calls, you won't be able to take advantage of many of the features of VoIP. It may be acceptable to use traditional phones and an ATA at home, but in a business context, it's generally recommended that when you upgrade to VoIP, you get new IP phones.

IP phones come in a variety of different shapes and with a variety of operating systems. Some look and feel like traditional business phones, others have more in common with an Apple or Android tablet. Another style of IP phone is a conference phone, which has a speaker on top and has three microphones around it. A telepresence IP phone is more like a miniature television studio, with one or more cameras and one or more screens of various sizes. Videoconference phones encode and decode into video formats, rather than audio formats, but the method they do it is internet protocol, so a video phone is an IP phone. Software, like Skype, can also be an IP phone, although usually it's just thought of as a softphone.

IP phones are able to get their power over an Ethernet cable, rather than using the power supply. This is called PoE. PoE is great for wiring phones where there is no power available. Conversely, many IP phones have Wi-Fi, in cases where you can get power, but there is no easily available internet jack. Some high end VoIP phones have Bluetooth, so you can connect a headset, and the phone can be anywhere. IP phones also have Ethernet pass-through, meaning that you can plug one end into a router and the other end into a computer; some IP phones have gigabit pass-through, while some only have high-speed pass through.

The two largest makers of IP phones are Polycom and Cisco, although other brands, like Yealink, Konftel and Grandstream are three of their largest competitors. No one brand of IP phone, or one model, is truly superior, what matters most is if the model is right for you and in your price range. Along those same lines, the most expensive phones are capable of handling many lines, but the same phone that is appropriate for a receptionist may also have features that a powerful executive wants

This is good news for businesses and end users because it means that PBX vendors can't force you into locking in with their proprietary software or hardware. Phone manufacturers can produce SIP phones, and as long as the phones can support the SIP standard, then your investment is protected, and the phones can be used with virtually any SIP-based IP PBX
