GIGABIT ETHERNET EXTREME TEMPERATURE MANAGED POE+ SWITCH(8)10/100/1000-MBPS COPP

Manufacturer Part Number: LIE1014A

Economical industrial switch with PoE+ ports and flexible SFP fiber uplinks. PoE+ and SFP ports for flexibility. This switch has eight 10/10/1000-Mbps PoE/PoE+ copper ports and four SFP ports for uplinks. This way you can power distant access points security cameras and other industrial equipment over the copper Ethernet lines at the far edges of your network where it's impractical to run electrical wires. The SFP fiber uplinks give you almost unlimited fiber distance options depending on the SFP. Maximize uptime. Advanced management features help minimize network downtime by enabling you to remotely diagnose and manage network problems. And you'll eliminate the need to send IT technicians on site-thus lowering costs. The switch is fully manageable through SNMP a Web browser Telnet or a console port. Control the bandwidth on each port individually and set up Quality of Service (QoS) priority queuing for critical applications. The switch supports port-based VLAN and IEEE 802.1Q VLAN tagging MAC-based trunking IP-multicast IGMP snooping rapid spanning tree for redundancy. Plus it has 802.1x port-based authentication for security. Fast failovers. The switch gives you maximum network flexibility Spanning Tree Protocol (STP/RSTP) Link Aggregation Control Protocol and a ring protocol. It offers a 20 millisecond or less failover. Extreme applications. Encased in an IP30-rated metal case this switch withstands extreme temperatures from -40degreeC to +75degreeC (-40degree F to +167degree F). Use it for Security and surveillance particularly to backhaul IP security camera data. Military applications especially in ships and other vehicles. Factory automation for controlling machinery PLCs motor drives sensors counters inspection cameras and packaging equipment. Oil and gas fields or remote equipment monitoring and control. Building automation for controlling HVAC and lighting systems. Installation options. The switch features redundant power inputs and includes DIN-rail and panel-mount kits. The power supplies (MDR-40-48 and SDR-240-48) are sold separately. The switch also includes a serial cable (RJ-45/DB9) for the console connection. This product is covered by one of more of the following United States Patent Nos. 7457250 8902760 and/or 9019838.

OVERVIEW

INDUSTRIAL MANAGED AND UNMANAGED GIGABIT ETHERNET SWITCHES DATA SHEET

INTRODUCTION

The Industrial Managed and Unmanaged Gigabit Ethernet Switches include unmanaged switches that provide four (4) copper RJ-45 or RJ-45 PoE ports and one (1) multi-rate SFP slot and managed switches that provide six (6) or eight (8) copper RJ-45 or RJ-45 PoE ports and two (2) or four (4) multi-rate SFP slots.

Power over Ethernet

The LIE401A, LIE1014A, LIE1080A and LIE1082A switches support Power over Ethernet compliant to the IEEE 802.3af and IEEE 802.3at standard on all copper ports. These switches can be used to power standard PoE PD devices with up to 30 watts per port along with the Ethernet data on standard Ethernet Cabling.

Multi-rate SFP slots

The benefit of having multi-rate SFP slots is to be able to use 100-Mbps and 1-Gbps SFP Modules for either multi- or single-mode in a mix and match as needed. If requirements change, just replace the SFP module and protect your switch investment.

Power

The switches are powered from 12- to 58-VDC. The PoE models need 48 VDC for 802.3af and a minimum of 53 VDC for 802.3at.

Extended temperature range

All models are tested and released for operating temperatures from -40° up to +75° Celsius.

Management

The switches offer powerful features including Layer 2 routing and management with all advanced filter and multicast algorithms needed today to easily prioritize, partition, and organize a reliable high-speed network.

    Network Switch Buying Guide

Connect Multiple Devices to a Network and Route Data to Designated Devices

What is a network switch and what does it do?

    NSUG24C2 ethernet switch

Are there different types of network switches?

There are two main types of network switches, unmanaged and managed. The essential difference is the capability to configure the operation of a managed switch to customize and optimize network traffic for specific applications.

    Unmanaged Switches

    Managed Switches

Where do you place network switches?

Network switches are usually placed on a desk or table, mounted on a wall, or mounted in a rack. CompSource offers unmanaged desktop switches (with metal or plastic housing) and both unmanaged and managed rack-mount switches with metal housing and a built-in PDU (Gigabit Ethernet Switch PDU Combos).

What is a Gigabit Ethernet Switch PDU Combo?

CompSource offers an exclusive line of unmanaged and managed Gigabit Ethernet switches that have Power over Ethernet (PoE).

    Factors to Consider

Does your application require a managed switch?

If your application involves controlling network traffic, you will need the features of a managed switch. The following are some examples of tasks that require a managed switch:

    • Controlling access between departments within your LAN
    • Running many bandwidth-intensive applications simultaneously
    • Giving important data greater priority in your LAN
    • Improving the performance of a busy network
    • Implementing VoIP, wireless LANs or other advanced services

How many devices do you need to connect to your network?

Make sure you select a switch with enough Gigabit (10/100/1000 Mbps) Ethernet ports for the devices you want to connect to your network. If you think you'll add more devices in the future, choose a switch that will give your network room to grow.

how many devices do you need to connect to your network

Do you need to connect multiple network switches?

If you plan to connect multiple network switches, look for models with SFP uplink ports (also known as Mini-GBIC ports). SFP uplink ports are connection points for SFP (small form-factor pluggable) modules that allow the switch to uplink to other switches using optical fiber cabling.

Power over Ethernet (PoE) uses existing network cables to power connected devices, such as VoIP phones, wireless access points and surveillance cameras. If you need this functionality, look for a switch with Gigabit Ethernet ports that support PoE. Make sure the power per port (in watts) and the total power budget of the PoE ports meet the needs of your electronic devices.
