General Information:

The Rocstor JetConnect JC24 Ethernet Switch is a versatile networking solution designed for a wide range of applications, including small home offices, schools, government institutions, and small/medium enterprises. With its full Gigabit capability, this switch is designed to upgrade networks to Gigabit speed, meeting high bandwidth requirements for seamless data transmission. Featuring 24 10/100/1000 Mbps Adaptive Ethernet Ports, each supporting full line speed, non-blocking switching, and port auto flip functionality, the JC24 ensures efficient and reliable network performance.

The JC24 Ethernet Switch is Layer 2 supported, providing enhanced network capabilities for improved management and performance optimization. It conforms to IEEE802.3, IEEE 802.3u, and IEEE 802.3ab standards, ensuring broad compatibility with various network devices. With 24 10/100/1000 Base-T ports, it offers ample connectivity options for numerous devices, facilitating smooth communication and data transfer. The switch's high back-plane bandwidth of 48 Gbps ensures efficient data handling, even during periods of high network traffic. Additionally, it features IEEE802.3x Flow control for optimized data flow and network stability.

One of the standout features of the JetConnect JC24 is its unique one-key function conversion, supporting three modes: normal mode, VLAN mode, and extend 492 ft (250m) mode. In normal mode, the switch operates with default settings. In VLAN mode, Ports 1-22 are isolated from each other and only communicate with the uplink ports 23-24. This feature enhances network security by controlling network storms and protecting information integrity. In extend 492 ft (250m) mode, Ports 1-22 can transmit data up to 492 ft (250 meters) using Cat5e/6 or higher network cables, while ports 23-24 operate normally.

The JetConnect JC24 is TAA compliant, meeting the requirements for government procurement. With its seamless, high-speed network experience, the JC24 ensures reliable connectivity and efficient data transmission. Backed by a 5-year warranty and lifetime technical support, Rocstor provides peace of mind and assistance throughout the product's lifespan. Choose the Rocstor JetConnect JC24 Ethernet Switch for a robust and dependable networking solution.

    Network Switch Buying Guide

Connect Multiple Devices to a Network and Route Data to Designated Devices

What is a network switch and what does it do?

    NSUG24C2 ethernet switch

Are there different types of network switches?

There are two main types of network switches, unmanaged and managed. The essential difference is the capability to configure the operation of a managed switch to customize and optimize network traffic for specific applications.

    Unmanaged Switches

    Managed Switches

Where do you place network switches?

Network switches are usually placed on a desk or table, mounted on a wall, or mounted in a rack. CompSource offers unmanaged desktop switches (with metal or plastic housing) and both unmanaged and managed rack-mount switches with metal housing and a built-in PDU (Gigabit Ethernet Switch PDU Combos).

What is a Gigabit Ethernet Switch PDU Combo?

CompSource offers an exclusive line of unmanaged and managed Gigabit Ethernet switches that have Power over Ethernet (PoE).

    Factors to Consider

Does your application require a managed switch?

If your application involves controlling network traffic, you will need the features of a managed switch. The following are some examples of tasks that require a managed switch:

    • Controlling access between departments within your LAN
    • Running many bandwidth-intensive applications simultaneously
    • Giving important data greater priority in your LAN
    • Improving the performance of a busy network
    • Implementing VoIP, wireless LANs or other advanced services

How many devices do you need to connect to your network?

Make sure you select a switch with enough Gigabit (10/100/1000 Mbps) Ethernet ports for the devices you want to connect to your network. If you think you'll add more devices in the future, choose a switch that will give your network room to grow.

how many devices do you need to connect to your network

Do you need to connect multiple network switches?

If you plan to connect multiple network switches, look for models with SFP uplink ports (also known as Mini-GBIC ports). SFP uplink ports are connection points for SFP (small form-factor pluggable) modules that allow the switch to uplink to other switches using optical fiber cabling.

Power over Ethernet (PoE) uses existing network cables to power connected devices, such as VoIP phones, wireless access points and surveillance cameras. If you need this functionality, look for a switch with Gigabit Ethernet ports that support PoE. Make sure the power per port (in watts) and the total power budget of the PoE ports meet the needs of your electronic devices.

I've ordered about $2,000 worth of hardware from Compsource over the past 8 months. I've been very pleased with the website, its offerings, and the easy of purchasing. My only criticism has been with the search engine. I plan to continue ordering parts and supplies from CompSource. Is it possible to provide discounts for repeat business or B-2-B purchases, or perhaps discounts on volume or dollar amounts? jgolden
