The router will also fallback when the primary interface connection is restored. This functionality operates regardless of whether the primary connection is LTE or a wired connection such as fiber, Cable or DSL.

Advanced Quality of Service (QoS) Framework

The 6300VNL supports a QoS framework based on the EPS bearer model. Default bearers are supported for best effort services and multiple dedicated bearers, GBR (guaranteed bit rate) resource types and QoS class of identifiers (QCI) are supported for real-time voice and video applications that require dedicated network resources. BEC's comprehensive QoS capabilities, leverage IP QoS concepts and standards such as DiffServ along with the LTE QoS framework to achieve the best QoE (Quality of Experience) for each subscriber.

Security functionality includes: WEP 64/128 bit, WPA, WPA2 (PSK, TKIP and AES, 802.1X, SSID broadcast disable and wireless MAC address filtering and MSSID with Client Isolation to enhance the level of transmission security and access control over the Wireless LAN. The router also supports the Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) standard, allowing users to establish a secure wireless network by simply pushing a button. If the network requires wider coverage, the built-in Wireless Distribution System (WDS) repeater function allows users to expand the wireless network without the need for any external wires or cables.

Pathway to the Future

The BEC 6300VNL fully supports IPv6 (Internet Protocol Version 6), implementation of IPv6 is growing significantly and multiple transition methods are required to support the coexistence and migration from IPv4. With BEC IPv6 enabled devices, service providers easily adapt IPv6 to their network as we support major transition mechanisms such as Dual-Stack, Dual-Stack Lite, and 6RD .

    Learn more about Wireless Routers

Switches, routers, and wireless access points

There are two kinds of internet routers available: wired and wireless.

When you sign up for a new broadband deal, you'll receive a wireless model rather than a wired one from your internet service provider (ISP).

That's because wired ones have become outdated and tend to only be used by those who want to get online via an Ethernet cable.

Wireless routers allow you to do that, too, and most come with at least four Ethernet ports for connecting PCs, TVs and other in-home gadgets to the internet — but they also let you connect to a Wi-Fi network with other devices.

    What is a wireless router?

A wireless router is an electronic device that works as a router — meaning it sends data from the internet cable to a device — and as a wireless access point so this data can be shared through radio signals instead of another cable.

How does a Wi-Fi router work?

Plug your phone or cable line into your router and data will be sent through the connection to the router.

The Wi-Fi router then takes this data and converts it into radio signals, which are then picked up by devices with Wi–Fi capability such as laptops, tablets, smartphones and games consoles.

How do devices connect to a Wi-Fi router?

To connect to your router, you'll be prompted to enter a password on the device you're using. This is usually supplied by your ISP and can be found on the bottom of the router.

This tends to be a series of numbers and letters, designed to offer heightened security and protect your network from being used by others illegally.

    What is a wireless router?

As well as being able to provide wireless access to the web and other services on smartphones, tablets and PCs, you can use your router to make calls over the internet, saving on expensive phone bills. You can also use it to access digital TV, using products such as Apple TV, Amazon's Firestick, Google's Chromecast or a smart TV.

    Wireless networking

Wireless networking is a method by which homes, telecommunications networks and business installations avoid the costly process of introducing cables into a building, or as a connection between various equipment locations.
CompSource will educate and help make this process enjoyable and easy.

Whether you're planning on using your network for basic home tasks or enterprise level security. You can tell our trained sales professionals your needs, and we'll make custom recommendations to suit your specifications and budget. Our reps have extensive knowledge and love to share.
