CompSource User Reviews Will never go back to a regular desk Review: We have installed 4 of these in our office and absolutely love them. We will never go back to a stationary desk. CompSource has the best pricing and quickest delivery I have found for this product. Pros: Full side to side and up and down movement. Quick transition from sitting to standing. Cons: Takes up a great deal of desk space. Have found it works best installed in a corner desk.
Manager Review: Once dual monitor bracket was attached and dual monitors added, unit would not remain in the upward or stand up position but would slowly slip down to below 90 degrees due to weight. Despite tightening the proper tension bolt as directions described, and then calling tech support, problem still occurred. Employee then looked further and found another bolt to tighten down within the arm of the unit and that seemed to have solved the problem. Without doing our own in-depth investigating of the unit, tech support and the instructions were not helpful in resolving the issue. We knew it was just a problem with the tension but finding the right bolt was the problem. Doesn't appear this model is quality checked very often with dual monitor weight on the bracket and arm before they are shipped. This problem would have been caught if they were. Pros: Provides good ergonomics as employees can stand up while working on there computer and is fully adjustable for sitting or standing for most people. Unit can be moved out of the way when needing access to desk top. Heavy duty as parts are made of metal and not plastic so should last. Good value for the cost of the unit....cheaper than buying new office furniture. This is the 4th Ergotron unit I have bought for employees. 2 are for single monitors and 2 are for dual monitors...all different models because of desk units. Overall, I am impressed with the quality and how well they are working for each employee. Will buy more when needed. Cons: Issue with tension in the arm once monitor weight is added to keep it upright in standing position. Instructions tend to be a little hard to follow. Need to measure desk unit to make sure it will mount properly as it will not work on all types of desks. Also could be an issue if employee is over 6' tall when standing. Unit may not go up high enough for them to have head and eyes in line with monitor for good ergonomics.
